Last November, IBAC’s Governing Board held its fall meeting in Montreal, at the Headquarter of ICAO, for the first time since 2010. IBAA was represented by Mr. Marco Rosati.

On the margins of the meeting, all Board members met with their respective representatives to the ICAO Council and/or commissioner on the Air Navigation Commission (ANC). In addition, IBAC hosted a reception for the Board to meet Council representatives, ANC commissioners, industry observers, and senior ICAO Secretariat officials, including the Secretary General, Dr. Fang Liu.

Italian mission at ICAO was represented by Mr. Fabio Nicolai.

At the Governing Board meeting itself, the Board made a number of key decisions:

  • Approved the new (and first ever) communications plan for IBAC (member associations and the business aviation community will see more about and hear more from IBAC in the coming months);
  • Endorsed an initiative to develop a global SMS platform/database to benefit business aircraft operators around the world;
  • Welcomed IBAC’s 15th member association, the African Business Aviation Association; and
  • Agreed on annual objectives for IBAC in 2018.

Next meeting of the IBAC Governing Board will be held next May in Geneva in conjunction with EBACE.
